Additional Details

Additional Details

  • The Sirloin Roast comes from the loin of the hog making it a lean and tender cut, perfect for cooking slow and low.

  • Our boneless sirloin roast comes from Berkwood pork farms which raise 100% Berkshire hogs. These hogs are smaller and fattier than most other hogs, which produces exceptional marbling throughout the cut.

  • Berkwood pork is humanely raised and bred to the highest standards without antibiotics, growth hormones, or animal byproducts used in feed.

  • Each order is packed with dry ice so that it stays completely frozen while en route to your doorstep.

How To Prepare

  • Thaw your sirloin roast in the refrigerator overnight (8-12 hours) before cooking. To speed up the thawing process, place the vacuum-sealed roast in a leak-proof plastic bag and submerge it in cold water.

  • The best way to prepare a pork sirloin roast is by roasting it in the oven. Create a rub of your choosing, and roast in a Dutch oven for several hours, low-and-slow.

  • Cook to a minimum internal temperature of 145° F for safe consumption.

  • Note: Consuming raw or undercooked pork may increase your risk of foodborne illness.

FAQs

FAQs

Where does Market House source its pork from?
+
-

Our Pork Sirloin Roast is sourced from Berkwood pork farms that raise 100% Berkshire hogs, which are smaller and leaner than most other hogs. Berkwood pork is humanely raised and bred to the highest standards without antibiotics, growth hormones, or animal byproducts used in feed.

What does 100% Berkshire mean?
+
-

Berkshire pork is a type of hog. Our sirloin roast is cut from 100% Berkshire hogs, meaning no cross-breeding exists.

What is the difference between a Pork Loin Roast and a Pork Sirloin Roast?
+
-

Pork Loin Roasts are cut from the back of the hog and include a sizeable fat cap that produces superior flavor. (Our boneless chops are cut from a pork loin.) Pork Sirloin Roasts are a subpart of the pork loin and are cut from the loin section closest to the hog's hips with fat throughout the cut.

How long can I keep my pork in the freezer?
+
-

All of our products will stay good in the freezer for several months. However, for the best taste and texture, we recommend enjoying them within 2-3 months.
